Springtime

Akerselva in Spring

There’s a certain beauty about Spring – where the birds return from hibernation and start to chirp again, the trees have leaves again, and people are just more cheerful. I never liked the sun when I lived in KL and then Brisbane; always felt there was too much of it. But now that I live in a country where sunlight is limited during Winter, I start to appreciate sunlight better. I guess it is true when they say you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone.

I got a haircut recently, before my vacation, so I wouldn’t look so unkempt when I got to KL. That’s the routine actually – to not get a haircut until I get back to Malaysia as haircuts are a lot cheaper there. At least, that’s what I used to do when I was a student in Australia as haircuts there were a little bit beyond my student budget. These days, however, it feels a bit silly to not get a haircut in Norway before going on vacation. It is kind of nice to land in KL looking neater and “well-maintained”.

Here’s a picture of me with my new hairstyle. I think one of my eyes was reacting to the light from the flash 🙂

Me

It’s not a very clear photograph, make-up wise, but if you’re curious, I’m wearing:

  • MAC Blackground Paint Pot (base)
  • MAC Retrospeck, Bronze, Odalisque and Plumage eyeshadows
  • MAC Siahi Fluidline
  • MAC Pinch Me blush
  • Chanel Rouge Coco Shine lipstick in Boy

  1. Girl, you look beautiful! Love the makeup and the hair. And I get what you say about spring. It’s so wonderful to feel everything warm up again 😀

  2. As I already told you on Twitter, you look absolutely gorgeous! I cannot start to explain how happy I am to see that spring is approaching, with nice temperatures and sunshine! 😀

    • Thank you again 🙂 The warm and sunny weather is definitely making me all excited. Sitting in the apartment is less fun now. I hope you have a good Spring/Summer my friend. I can imagine how beautiful your apartment must look now with all that sunlight and that view. I’m a bit envious here 🙂

    • Yes, that’s me 🙂 I know I’m a bit elusive with photographs because I’m very self-critical.

Hmm, haircuts are anything but cheap here. Sometimes, if I don’t feel like spending on a good haircut, I get a trim with a student hairstylist as there’s a 50% discount. They might have that in Doha.

  3. I think the hair suits you great! I”m sure it cuts down alot of blow-drying and styling time, LOVE it! Now I”m tempted to cut mine shoulder length too. Dig the make up – smokey eyes is definitely for you.

    • Aww thank you 🙂 You know, the time saving part was definitely a factor that made me want to cut my hair shorter. Because my long hair was straightened, I was spending so much time ironing/blow-drying the upper half to avoid looking weird. Now with the short hair, I save a good 20-25 minutes in the morning. My hair was quite dry though after winter, so I thought I’ll get a haircut that doesn’t require much maintenance (other than frequent trims, the challenge with short hair) and one that used my original hair texture.
